Why Arizona Should Be Your Next Home: Top Reasons to Move Now!

We love Arizona — and honestly, we wish we’d made the move sooner. It’s been seven years since we left Washington State, and we haven’t looked back once.
Back then, we were constantly chasing the sun on vacations, so at some point, it just made sense to make the sunshine our everyday reality. We thought we were just moving to the desert, but within a few months, we realized Arizona actually has it all.
We settled in North Phoenix, in a beautiful master-planned community called Anthem, tucked right into the foothills. A lot of people from the Northwest end up here — the rolling hills, higher elevation, and slightly cooler temperatures make it feel a little familiar while still offering that Arizona warmth. At around 2,000 feet of elevation, the summers are warm but not unbearable, and we’ve acclimated quickly. Now, when the temperature drops into the 60s, we actually think it’s freezing!
One of the things we love most about living here is how easy it is to make friends. Almost everyone is from somewhere else, so even though we were newcomers, so was everyone else. The community is incredibly welcoming, and it didn’t take long to feel right at home.
Location-wise, it’s hard to beat.
We’re only 20 minutes from a massive lake that’s perfect for boating, about four hours from Puerto Peñasco in Mexico, five hours from San Diego, four hours from Las Vegas, and just an hour and a half from Flagstaff — where you can actually ski in the winter!
The schools are fantastic, the sense of community is strong, and there’s truly something for everyone. Plus, the homes here are so much more affordable than on the West Coast. Whether you’re looking for a golf course community, a ranch, or a horse property, Arizona has it all.
Moving to Arizona has been one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. If you’re curious about what life in Arizona is like or thinking about making a move yourself, I’d love to share more about our experience — and help you discover what makes living here so special.
